Finnish municipalities suffer from a lack of funds and of data for systematic maintenance planning of their road networks. SirWay therefore partnered with AFRY Finland and Vaisala to give municipalities a sustainable road asset management system with systematic data collection. The first municipalities using the product are Lempäälä, Vaasa, Paimio, Vihti and Kuopio, with more on the way.
With crowd-sourced data collection, a survey can be done in a day and twice a year — keeping costs to a minimum while still offering up-to-date data on road condition. The response has been positive, and we truly hope that our RAMS will stay in use for years to keep road condition and safety at a high level.
