Two International Roughness Index (IRI) measuring sensors (IRIMETER) have arrived. They will measure roughness on the left wheel path of the roads. The device is easy to install and operate. The left front tyre of a survey vehicle has to be removed and then the sensor is tightly attached to suspension column. It is advisable to test the device first once the batteries are installed and only afterwards install it if the device works normally. One vehicle will cover D and E roads with IRIMETER installed, Roadroid mobile phone and accurate GPS onboard. Another vehicle with just IRIMETER will cover A, B and C roads.
