International Roughness Index for paved ABC roads

International Roughness Index (IRI) was collected for the entire road network. Some of the roads are in such bad condition that the minimum speed of 20 km/h for IRI measurements were not reached. IRI can be used as a Key Performance Indicator for road condition. It should be separated for paved and unpaved roads. Average IRI for paved A -roads is 4.4 mm/m, for paved B -roads the average IRI is 6. [Read More]

International Roughness Index is a key indicator of road surface condition. The main road network (ABC roads) has been mostly completed and the initial results show that the main roads are in decent condition while the collector roads are mostly in poor condition. Later, when maintenance plans are created the IRI of each road and segment will be used in prioritisation of road works.
